Volunteer Training Schedule
The CASA Volunteer Training program consists of 8 in-person 3.5-hour classes, an hour of pre-work for each class and 3 hours of courtroom observation (approximately 39 hours total). You must finish all training and observation by the final deadline and all background checks must be completed and cleared in order to be assigned to a case.

** Classes 4, 5, and 6 of each cycle will be held in person at the CASA Office

Additional Training Expectations
Pre-Work: There will be approximately an hour of reading, videos, and other Pre-Work prior to each of the 8 classes that you are expected to complete in order to fully participate in class.
Courtroom Observation: Three hours of courtroom observation are required. Travis County CPS court hearings are conducted in person at the courthouse.
Swearing-In Ceremony: Attend this celebratory ceremony to take your volunteer oath after completing training. Tentative dates are:
- Monday, February 12th
- Tuesday, April 16th
- Wednesday, June 26th
- Tuesday, September 10th
- Wednesday, December 4th
Confirmed dates and locations will be included in your Swearing In invitation after you complete training.
Continuing Ed: You will be required to complete 12 hours of Continuing Education each year that you are an active volunteer. We offer a variety of trainings and activities to help volunteers complete this requirement.
