Family Finding Specialist

CASA of Travis County has a full-time Family Finding Specialist position available. The Family Finding Specialist motivates, guides, and empowers a team of volunteer advocates in specialized Family Finding assignments and provides support and technical assistance to Child Advocacy Specialists and their teams of volunteer advocates in their ongoing family finding and engagement efforts. In the role of specialized Family Finding advocate supervisor, The Family Finding Specialist provides quality supervision and guidance to volunteers who have received specialized Family Finding training and who act as secondary, specialized support to Child Advocacy Specialists and their volunteer advocates in locating and connecting with relatives and fictive kin of children to whom CASA is appointed. In the role of support and technical assistance provision, the Family Finding Specialist acts as consultant to Child Advocacy Specialists and their volunteer advocates in cases flagged as higher risk due to lacking permanency options or lacking family connections and supports to youth. In collaboration with the Family Finding Manager, the Family Finding Specialist conducts regular trainings for CASA staff and volunteers to support continued growth and knowledge of best practices related to family engagement and collects data for each Family Finding case to support continued program evaluation. The Family Finding Specialist will demonstrate cultural humility in their interactions with staff, volunteers, children, and families and will demonstrate a commitment to volunteer engagement, child safety, and race equity in all endeavors.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required. Preferred candidates will have experience in the Travis County child welfare system and/or with the CASA model as well as training or experience in permanency issues, both legal and relational, for children involved in the child welfare system. Spanish/English fluency is considered an advantage.
