What we’re thankful for this year!

Nov 20 2012

This Thanksgiving we wanted to share some of the things we at CASA are thankful, both in our personal lives and for the children we serve!

Key Richardson, Program Director

I am thankful for CASA volunteers who, without attention or praise, again and again rise to speak on behalf of children concerning their safety, their needs, their permanency.  Amazing group of people!!

Ebony Jackson, Team Leader

I am thankful for my CASA kids and their resiliency.  There are many reasons why they are in care, but they are able, in many circumstances, to overcome what has happened and do great things. It's amazing to see/hear their growth. I am also thankful for my family and friends that support me and keep me grounded!! It makes me a stronger person and I am so grateful for their love and support.

Mary Nicosia, Volunteer Retention Specialist

I am thankful for the repeated examples of beautiful resiliency and courage our children and youth in foster care demonstrate everyday!

Julianna Potter, Child Advocacy Specialist

I'm thankful for donors who give to direct service funds so that when there's an emergency and a family's out of food or clothes or a child needs a bed to sleep in, we are able to meet that need.

Laura Wolf, Executive Director

I am thankful for the commitment and vision of the CASA Board of Directors, the generosity of CASA's donors, and the dedication, humor and talent of the CASA staff!

Rebecca Ten Doeschate, Child Advocacy Specialist

I am thankful for being able to work with some of the most amazing and resilient kids in the world.  They are my heroes. Personally, I am thankful for laughter. It calms me when I am stressed, bring perspective back to my life and is something easily shared with others.

Bree Taylor, Program Liaison

I am thankful for my family and friends. For the opportunities life has given me. I am thankful for life itself. And I am very thankful that CASA has the chance to make a difference in a kid’s life.

Robin Bradford, Development Director

For my family and good health - which means we'll all be rock climbing at Enchanted Rock the day after Thanksgiving.

Katie Eaton, HR & Executive Specialist

I'm thankful for volunteers who speak their mind, aren't afraid to push boundaries and who never back down because they believe so whole heartedly in their kids and the system!! Personally, I'm thankful for friends and my extended Texas "family" including my CASA volunteers.

Kamini Verma, Child Advocacy Specialist

I am thankful for my volunteers.

All of us at CASA are thankful for you, our friends, supporters and volunteers!
