CASA of Travis County's vision is to provide a trained volunteer advocate for every child in need in our community. Last year 700 children still needed a CASA volunteer to speak up for them.
We are looking for volunteers from every walk of life who share a commitment to improving children’s lives, a willingness to learn, and an open mind towards life experiences different from their own. We need volunteers from all areas of the community, and are especially in need of male and bilingual volunteers.
There are many different ways to get involved in recruiting CASA volunteers. Take a look at the opportunities below and see what fits best for you!
Talk to a Friend
Know someone among your friends, family or coworkers who would be a great CASA volunteer? Let them know!
Bring them a volunteer brochure (you can download one or pick some up next time you're in the CASA offices), send them to the Volunteer page of our website or invite them to join you at an Info Session to learn more.
Share your love of CASA online
With email and social networks like Facebook and Twitter, you can recruit via word-of-mouth on a much larger scale! Add your volunteer experience with CASA to your resume on Linked In, or list CASA as one of your causes. Share your support of CASA with all of your online networks!
Help us market CASA
Whether you’re best friends with the local television news anchor, or you have access to post in a church bulletin or on a neighborhood listserv, all of these are opportunities to help us spread the word about CASA. If you have someone who's willing to write about, post about, donate ads to or interview CASA, please let us know!
Email Callie Langford with more information about your contacts or opportunities. Callie will ensure you get great information to submit or determine the best news pitch to make to your media contact.
Introduce your Organization, Network, or Group to CASA
Involved in any organizations, networks or groups around town? There are plenty of opportunities to introduce CASA. Invite CASA to present information about volunteering at an organizational meeting or special event. Submit information about CASA for the group’s website, e-mail or print newsletter.
Please contact Sonia Kotecha with ideas.
Host a Mi CASA es su CASA Party
Introduce your friends, family and neighbors to CASA by hosting a gathering at your home focused on sharing the CASA volunteer experience in a fun environment. CASA staff members are available to present information to the group about volunteering or to coordinate with you to jointly share the CASA volunteer experience.
Please contact Sonia Kotecha to begin planning your event!
Volunteer at Recruitment Fairs
CASA is always looking for volunteers to help staff recruitment booths at various events around town. This is an opportunity for potential volunteers to learn more about what it means to be a CASA volunteer. There are often weekend and evening opportunities.
Please contact Sonia Kotecha to get involved.
