It’s sort of like Christmas morning, giving presents to children who are waking up with magic in their eyes.  Watching the pure joy on their faces when they get that gift that they’d been dreaming about. I see that in the children I deal with in CASA.  When I walk into a room, they light up.

-CASA Volunteer

Imagine the experience of children who are removed from their parents because the people who should have taken care of them couldn't or wouldn't do so. These children find themselves in a world filled with social workers, lawyers, judges, and courtrooms where life-altering decisions are made on their behalf. Having a CASA volunteer by their side means having a trained and committed adult who has been appointed by a judge to watch over their case and advocate for their best interests.

CASA volunteers ensure children don't get lost in an overburdened legal and social service system. They may be the only guiding presence involved from the beginning to the end of that child's case. For these children it can mean the difference between instability and permanence, insecurity and learning to trust, invisibility and being made a priority.

We hope you decide to join our family of volunteers, everyday people, who are committed to improving abused children’s lives. It is easier than you think.
