The Children's Campaign

Child abuse and neglect is a really pervasive problem, particularly for children living in poverty. I think that a lot of us expect the system to do something about it—the district attorney, Child Protective Services, the court. CASA is the community involving itself in helping these children, one family at a time, and that’s what makes the difference, so many times, in whether these kids are going to be successful or not. CASA makes a tremendous difference.

Each year CASA asks for support from our community through our Annual Children’s Campaign so that our staff and volunteers can continue their incredible and invaluable work. Last year, CASA raised over $100,000 in our Children’s Campaign --- the most raised through the Campaign to date.

This year, we are pleased and proud to announce that the Topfer Family Foundation has awarded us a “challenge grant”: if we can raise $25,000 in additional donations in this year’s Children’s Campaign, they will match that with a $25,000 grant. Please help us meet this challenge!

If you are a previous donor to the Children’s Campaign, please consider an increased gift. If you have not previously donated to the Children’s Campaign, please consider making a gift this year.

This additional $25,000 will enable CASA to provide the highest-quality child advocacy services to approximately 50 children in one year. That represents fifty children who will have a better chance for a safe and permanent home, who will have improved placement, legal, educational, medical and therapeutic situations because of the dedicated advocacy of CASA in their case.

Your gift will help CASA continue to be a stable and supportive presence for children in the court system --- often the only stable and supportive adult presence they have --- to help protect them and help them find a home.
