How to Become a CASA
To become a CASA Volunteer:
- Download an application to mail or email to our Volunteer Coordinator, Melia Graber.
- Schedule a Pre-Training Interview with Melia Graber at (512) 459-2272 or via email.
- Attend CASA University Training.
CASA University is a self paced volunteer training program that includes ten 3-hour classes. Beginning with CASA 101, the training covers everything from child abuse to the legal system. After completing 30 hours of training, CASA volunteers are sworn in by a judge to speak up for the best interest of abused and neglected children in court.

You must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass extensive reference, Child Protective Services and criminal background checks before becoming a CASA volunteer. You cannot be a current foster parent or be in the process of adopting a child from Child Protective Services.
